What is it?
Thursday Nights at DIBV
Thursday nights at Darwin Indoor Beach Volleyball are our dedicated men’s night. Six indoor beach courts on real sand, running all year round—wet season, dry season and school holidays.
Men’s 6-A-Side competition runs across A, B and C Grade, so whether you’re lining up to compete or just want a solid run after work, there’s a spot for you.
A different challenge
If You Play Hard Court, You Should Try Beach
Sand changes the game. Different footwork, different movement, different challenge. It is easier on your body than hard court—your knees, ankles and joints will thank you for it. And because it is indoors, you play in the same conditions every week regardless of Darwin’s weather.
A lot of Darwin’s volleyball players do both—hard court during the week and beach on Thursdays. They are different enough that one makes you better at the other.

We don’t do season-start-only sign-ups. Thursday nights at DIBV work around your life, not the other way around.
- Join mid-season—no need to wait for a new season.
- Take weeks off—if you are travelling or life gets busy, your spot is there when you are back.
- Run two teams at once—got enough mates? Register a second team.
- Fill in for other teams—a good way to get extra games if your team is short.
No penalties, no pressure. Show up when you can.
What’s included?
Everything You Need
All playing equipment is provided—nets, balls and paid umpires. You just need to bring yourselves.
The bar is open from 5:30pm. Games kick off at 6:15pm. After games, most teams stick around—that’s half the reason people come back.

Great for newer teams and players finding their feet. Everyone starts somewhere.
